Than You Think!
Hobbs sits on the Western border of Texas and is located within easy driving distance from Lubbock and the Midland/Odessa area. Hobbs is the focal point for arts and education in Lea County with Lea County Commission for the Arts headquartered here and two schools of higher learning. New Mexico Junior College offers two-year associate degrees and the College of the Southwest is a four-year college with a Master’s program.  Interested in sports or events?  The Lea County Event Center is the second largest facility of its type in New Mexico just across the street from the Black Gold Casino and Horse Racing Track where excitement is always in season. But visitors to Hobbs will find that Hobbs is not only growing into New Mexico’s newest destination, they will discover Hobbs’ greatest asset … its people.
